Blogging 101

Alright aside from this blog - I have decided to have all of my blogs written by other people... and I have to say... life couldnt be better!

What can I say, getting someone else to write your blog is just a hundred million times easier.

Anyways I have people writing everyday of the week for my blogs and I dont even have to bother with the stuff. They take care of all of it for me.

I am also making money doing copywriting on the side and I have to say, its pretty damn easy finding work when your a good copywriter. So many things to do - one thing I have learned about adwords is when in doubt... go to perry marshall. Thats pretty much how I get my adwords problems solved nowadays.

Anyways, hired another blog writer today - they are cheaper than you think. Aside from that, ive been planning and doing some copywriting exercises.

Email Marketing

Okay so today I read a book called Multiple Streams of Internet Income by Robert G. Allen.

Anyways, this books is great. Is jammed packed with strategies you dont normally see, rather than the same old material being rehashed over and over again. One of the things Robert suggests is trying a opt-in email campaign.

So, I went to clickbank, grabbed an affiliate link for a high converting product and then rented a mailing list of a 1000 people intrested in home business opportunities for $22. The nice thing about rented lists is they also handle sending out the information and whatnot. So you dont have to do any techy stuff.

Anyways, basically once you've bought your mailing list you fill in the blanks of how you want your email to be sent. Once that's done you just submit and they send you a confirmation in 12-24 hours.

So right now im playing the waiting game for them to confirm my email and then they will send it out, should be intresting to see what kind of results I get.

Wrestling With Google

Today I wrestled with the beast known as Adwords, basically a day after I had triumphantly made my first sale... google decided to bitch slap me and make all my keywords inactive. But I wasnt about to let google so easily crush my newly profitable campaign.

So heres what I did. First I looked at my highest preforming keywords and found out that I was getting a 3% clickthrough rate on my best keywords and all the other ones were dragging down my CTR. So I seperated them into diffrent groups, one was the top keywords, then second best set, then I created variations of my ads to fit certain searches.

Overall I still have keywords that are underpreforming but they arent affecting my campaign as a whole because they are divided with individual CTR's. So far so good.

First Sale!

What did I find when I woke up this morning?

I made my first sale!

Yes that's right, it finally happened! I made my first sale on Clickbank and I feel great. If I were to give one piece of advice it would be never give up! cause sometimes that sale is right around the corner.

John Reese

Recently I learnt more about the internet marketing guru known as John Reese...

Wow that guy knows his stuff.

I mean he's gotta be one of the best, even his info is jaw dropping. If you can get anything written by John Reese, just do it. I was stunned when I saw the kind of information he provides, most people charge a fortune just for his freebies.

Adwords Lessons Learnt The Hard Way

Well I have found that adwords can be a difficult thing to predict. There a number of adwords strategies around the net but the main idea it sums up to is

your CTR (click through rate) * Max CPC = Impressions

The higher your CTR the lower your costs are. So, how do you get a good CTR? Well there are two factors that come into play, first is your keywords. The more targeted your keywords are to your ad, the more clicks you will get. The second is your ad itself, the more compelling you ad is, the higher your click through rate will be. Writing good ads requires a blog in itself, in fact there are numerous good blogs on copywriting (ad writing).

Here are a few resources for you:

Click Bank Approves

Today I had my website approved by Clickbank, so now im running my google adwords campaign. Since then ive learnt a few key things, first of all, selling your own product is a hell of a lot harder than being an affiliate for someone elses product.

However... there are numerous advantages to being a publisher. One big advantage is the clickbank affiliate network, 100,000 people ready to promote your product. Another is that you can add any bonus', create a better offer and improve your sales copy.

That said, if your thinking about creating your own product, be prepared to spend at least $200 in the process. You have $50 that will go to Clickbank, then theres registering a domain name, getting a host, designing a website, writing your sales copy and testing your copy. And testing it is the most expensive cost of all. Before you can start attracting affiliates to sell your product your going to need to have a proven sales copy with a steady conversion rate.

For just starting out, its pretty easy to take $50, sign up for clickbank and promote someone elses product as an affiliate and make money. As an affiliate you simply drive traffic to a website and the site owner handles the rest of the work.
